Felony Criminal Possession of Stolen Property Arrest

On August 30th 2017 at approximately 4:30 PM Joshua Flach of Ravena, NY was arrested for the felony of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 2nd Degree. In late March of this year, Mr Flach had stolen an excavator from New Hampshire and was en route back to his home when he had trouble with his trailer. He had left the trailer and excavator on a third party's property in the Village of Nassau and never returned to retrieve it. The property owner became suspicious and alerted the Village of Nassau Police Department. Through an investigation it was learned that Mr. Flach had committed crimes throughout the region. Mr. Flach surrendered himself to the New York State Police and Village of Nassau Police. He was arraigned on the Nassau and State Police charges in the Town of Schagticoke Court by Judge Thomas and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail with no bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9/1/2017 at 2 PM.

Criminal Possession of Marijuana Arrest

On August 19th 2017 at approximately 6:01 PM 29 year old Chelsea Ryll of Ascutney, VT was arrested for Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 4th degree after a traffic stop. Ms. Ryll was stopped for speeding on Chatham Street. She was in possession of approximately 6.9 ounces of marijuana in the form of edibles and marijuana as well as $780 cash. Ms. Ryll was arrested and processed at Nassau PD and released on $500 police bail with an appearance ticket and traffic ticket. Her next court appearance is 9/5/2017 at 6:30 PM. The passenger in the vehicle was also ticketed for having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle.

Felony Strangulation Arrest

On August 10th 2017 at approximately 8:03 PM 17 year old Brian McGuire of Nassau, NY was arrested for Strangulation in the second degree, Assault in the third degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the area of Griswald Street in the Village of Nassau. Mr. McGuire assaulted a 12 year old. He was arraigned by Town of Schodack Justice Paul Peter and released to Rensselaer County Probation day reporting. His next court appearance will be in Village of Nassau Court on 8/15/2017 at 6:30 PM. An order of protection was issued to the victim.

Felony Embezzlement Arrest

On August 9th 2017 at approximately 6:30 PM 38 year old Phillip Bonfante of Schenectady, NY was arrested for Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree after an investigation by the Village of Nassau Police. Mr. Bonfante was the treasurer for the Nassau Baseball Association between 2013 and 2015. After his term, an audit was completed, there were some discrepancies discovered in the financial records. During the course of his tenure as treasurer, Mr Bonfante had written himself checks and used the Nassau Baseball Association debit card for purchases that were unauthorized, totaling in the amount of $4,366.32. After a warrant was issued, Mr. Bonfante turned himself in to Village of Nassau police officers and was arraigned before the Town of Schodack Justice Paul Peter. He was released to Rensselaer County Probation day reporting. His next court appearance will be at the Town of Schodack Justice Court on 9/6/2017 at 6:00 PM.
