On June 9th, 2016 at approximately 7:00 PM, K9 Officer Bunney and K9 Yazzo were requested to respond to Grafton, NY to assist locating a man who attempted to take his own life. Earlier, having been involved in a domestic dispute, the man ingested a large amount of pills and made a statement he would not be seen alive again. He then went into a dense wooded area. K9 Yazzo was able to lead Nassau Police K9 Officer Bunney and members of the New York State Police and Rensselaer County Sheriff's Department to the man. The man had walked approximately 2 miles into the dense woods and had secluded himself between a few logs and boulders, in an apparent attempt not to be found. The man was discovered unconscious. An EMT trained Sheriff's Deputy was able to administer Narcan in an attempt to reverse the effects from the ingested pills. Officers were then able to have the New York State Police helicopter direct the responding Fire and EMS agencies to their location in the woods. The man was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
