On November 27th 2014 at approximately 9:22 PM 48 year old Thomas Lee of Nassau, NY was arrested for Felony DWI after a traffic stop on Bullis Way. Mr. Lee was stopped for failing to stop at a stop sign and failure to signal on Fairgrounds Street. His BAC was 0.12%. Ms. Morris was stopped for failing to dim headlights on Albany Avenue. She was released on $248 police bail with traffic tickets to appear in Nassau Village Court on 1/6/2015 at 6:30PM.

Stalking/Felony Criminal Contempt Arrest

On November 21st 2014 at approximately 9:15 PM 50 year old Roary Shook of Nassau was arrested for Stalking in the 4th degree and Felony Criminal Contempt. Mr. Shook was arraigned by Judge Michael Conway and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail without bail. A temporary order of protection was issued to the victim. His next appearance dates will be on 12/02/2014 at 6:30 PM in Village of Nassau Court.

DWI Arrest

On November 8th 2014 at approximately 9:29 PM 24 year old Nicholas Batanglo of Windsor, MA was arrested for DWI after a traffic stop on Church Street . Mr. Batanglo was stopped for speeding on Albany Avenue. His BAC was 0.15%. He was released on $250 police bail with traffic tickets to appear in Nassau Village Court on 12/02/2014 at 6:30PM.

Officer Extinguishes Kitchen Fire

On November 5th, 2014 at approximately 8:15 PM Officer Bunney was dispatched to a multifamily home on Chatham Street for a reported structure fire. The caller stated the toaster oven was on fire and was spreading to the microwave and kitchen cabinets. The occupants were able to get out of the house without incident. Upon arrival Officer Bunney was able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the rest of the house. Fire Investigators will be investigating the cause considering the toaster oven was not being used at the time it caught on fire.

Petit Larceny Arrest

On 11/1/2014 at approximately 1:00 am Amy Beyor of Albany, NY was arrested for Petit Larceny. Ms. Beyor stole an Apple iPhone that was unattended on a table in a village restaurant earlier in the evening. Surveillance video at the establishment caught Ms. Beyor in the act. A patron at the restaurant was able to identify Ms. Beyor from the video. Ms. Beyor was arrested by Nassau Police Officers at her apartment in Albany, NY. Ms. Beyor was processed at Nassau PD and released on $200 police bail with an appearance ticket to appear in Village Court 11/18/2014 at 6:30 PM. Officers returned the iPhone to the owner.

K9 Yazzo of the Village of Nassau Police Department has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to the efforts of Vested Interest in K9s, Inc, a Massachusetts based non profit organization.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. hosted their third annual "Protecting the Paws in Blue" event on Sunday, September 21 to benefit the Saratoga County Sheriff's Department K9s Unit. Over $10,400 was raised which will provide bullet and stab protective vests for the 9 Saratoga County Sheriff's K9's, and 1 K9 from the Village of Nassau Police Department.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, MA. whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests for law enforcement dogs throughout the United States. Each vest costs $950.00 and has a 5 year warranty. The nonprofit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies with this potentially life saving body armor for their four legged K9 Officers. Through private and corporate sponsorships, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 1100 law enforcement dogs with protective vests since their inception in August of 2009. Over $1,045,000 in K9 vests have been donated in 39 states including Alaska and Hawaii.

The organization orders the Armor Express vests made in Central Lake, MI exclusively from distributor Regency Police Supply in Hyannis, MA. who also does the custom embroidery on the body armor.

New K9 graduates as well as K9's with expired vests are eligible to apply for the ballistic vests. The program is open to US employed and certified K9's who are at least 19 months of age.

Underage DWI Arrest

On October 19th 2014 at approximately 1:04 AM 18 year old Ryan Tymeson of Averill Park, NY was arrested for DWI after a traffic stop on Chatham Street. Mr. Tymeson was stopped for speeding. Mr Tymeson was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child. Mr. Tymeson had a passenger in the vehicle that was 16 years of age. His BAC was 0.08%. He was released with traffic tickets to appear in Nassau Village Court on 11/18/2014 at 6:30PM.

Criminal Impersonation Arrest

On October 11th 2014 at approximately 11:42 PM Joseph Flores of Schenectady, NY was arrested for Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd degree. Mr. Flores was a passenger on a traffic stop on Albany Avenue and provided his brothers name and birthdate to officers in attempt to evade capture on a warrant for his arrest. Mr. Flores was arrested and processed as Nassau PD and turned over to Colonie PD on their warrant. Mr. Flores' next appearance in Nassau Village Court will be on 11/18/2014 at 6:30 PM.




DWI Refusal Arrest

On October 11th 2014 at approximately 5:43 PM 69 year old Berns R. Mimnaugh of Pittsfield, MA was arrested for DWI after a traffic stop on Church Street. Mr. Mimnaugh was stopped for tinted windows. Mr. Mimnaugh failed field sobriety and was arrested for DWI. He also refused to provide a breath sample at the station. Mr. Mimnaugh was arraigned by Village Justice Michael Conway and released on his own recognizance and had his operating privledges suspended pending DMV refusing hearing scheduled for 10/12/2014 at 2:30 PM at the Albany DMV. Mr. Mimnaugh's next appearance will be in Nassau Village Court on 11/18/2014 at 6:30PM.

Criminal Contempt Arrest

On October 10th 2014 at approximately 7:13 PM 25 year old Michael P Carroll Jr of Chohoes, NY was arrested for Criminal Contempt in the second degree after a traffic stop on Chatham Street. Mr. Carroll was stopped for failure to dim headlights. Mr Carroll was in violation of a order of protection by failing to stay away from a protected party that was in the vehicle. Mr. Carroll was also charged with unregistered motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana. Mr. Carroll also had a warrant out of the Town of Schodack. Mr. Carroll was arraigned by Village Justice Michael Conway and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $1,000 on the warrant from Schodack and $1,000 from the charges in the Village of Nassau. Mr. Carroll's next appearance will be in Nassau Village Court on 11/18/2014 at 6:30PM.

Felony Drug/Weapon Arrest - MDMA "Molly"

On September 26th 2014 at approximately 10:09 PM 26 year old Dustin Nalven of Pittsfield, MA was arrested for Felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana after a traffic stop on Church Street. Mr. Nalven was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for inadequate muffler. Mr. Nalven was in possession of approximately 3.5 grams of MDMA, also known Molly. Mr. Nalven was also in possession of a 2 foot 3/4" metal pipe with a taped grip as well as approximately 4 grams of marijuana. Mr. Nalven was arraigned in the Village of Nassau Justice Court by the Honorable Town Justice Michael Conway and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. Mr. Nalven next appearance in Nassau Village Court will be on 10/7/2014 at 6:30PM.

Controlled Substance Possession Arrest - Adderall

On September 26th 2014 at approximately 10:09 PM 24 year old Katie Clarke of Cheshire, MA was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree after a traffic stop on Church Street. Ms. Clarke was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for inadequate muffler. Ms. Clarke was in possession of approximately 60 milligrams of amphetamine, also known Adderall. Ms. Clarke was arrested then processed at Nassau Police Station and released on $250.00 police bail with an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Nassau Court on 11/18/2014 at 6:30 pm.

On September 13th 2014 at approximately 9:49 PM 21 year old Brian Adriance of Nassau, NY was arrested for DWI after a traffic stop on Elm Street. Mr. Adriance was stopped for failing to dim headlights on Albany Avenue. Mr. Adriance failed field sobriety and was arrested for DWI. He also refused to provide a breath/blood sample at the station. Mr. Adriance was arraigned by Village Justice Michael Conway and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $1,000 Bail and had his license suspended pending DMV refusing hearing scheduled for 9/19/2014 at 2:30 PM at the Albany DMV. Mr. Adriance's next appearance will be in Nassau Village Court on 10/7/2014 at 6:30PM.

Unlawfull Fleeing/Reckless Endangerment Arrest

Offering a false instrument for filing/Criminal Impersonation Arrest

On 7/9/2014 at approximately 6:00 PM Tanika Curry of Pittsfield, MA was arrested for the felony of Offering a false instrument for filing in the 1st degree, the misdemeanors of Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd degree, Identity theft in the 3rd degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the second degree and the traffic infraction of Operating a motor vehicle while using a portable electronic device. Ms. Curry turned herself into the Nassau Police stemming from an incident that took place in the village back in April 2014 where she used the name of another person while on a traffic stop. On that stop she was issued a ticket for Operating a motor vehicle while using a portable electronic device and Aggravated Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree under the name she provided. She then signed a bail receipt using the false name. Ms. Curry was arraigned by Judge Michael Conway and released on her own recognizance. Ms. Curry's next appearance will be on 8/5/2014 at 6:30 PM.


Felony Criminal Possession of Marijuana Arrest

On July 5th 2014 at approximately 8:15 PM 23 year old John Rufino of Albany, NY was arrested for Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 2nd degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd degree after a traffic stop on Albany Avenue. Mr. Rufino was stopped for operating a vehicle with no front license plate on Albany Avenue. Mr. Rufino was in possession of approximately 2 pounds of marijuana.
