On August 9th 2017 at approximately 6:30 PM 38 year old Phillip Bonfante of Schenectady, NY was arrested for Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree after an investigation by the Village of Nassau Police. Mr. Bonfante was the treasurer for the Nassau Baseball Association between 2013 and 2015. After his term, an audit was completed, there were some discrepancies discovered in the financial records. During the course of his tenure as treasurer, Mr Bonfante had written himself checks and used the Nassau Baseball Association debit card for purchases that were unauthorized, totaling in the amount of $4,366.32. After a warrant was issued, Mr. Bonfante turned himself in to Village of Nassau police officers and was arraigned before the Town of Schodack Justice Paul Peter. He was released to Rensselaer County Probation day reporting. His next court appearance will be at the Town of Schodack Justice Court on 9/6/2017 at 6:00 PM.
